Families in need of financial assistance should email email@example.com
Through a partnership with Lexington-based youth sports organization I AM 3RD, Go For It will open the door for as many as 70 local children to participate in youth sports throughout the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.
“From the beginning, I knew this idea would only work if the community rallied behind it and if we found a partner who was also focused on making youth sports accessible for everyone,” Go For It founder Tyler Beisner said. “The financial support we received from the community exceeded even my wildest dreams and I AM 3RD stepped up in a big way to help make this dream a reality. I’m thrilled that so many children in Fayette County will have access to experiences that can be life-changing.”
I AM 3RD’s fall youth soccer season is already in progress. Through Go For It’s scholarship program, 15 players received financial assistance so they could play soccer. Through this new partnership, similar opportunities will be available for youth basketball, tennis and horseback riding lessons. Upcoming program registrations information can be found at www.iam3rd.org.
Any family in need of financial assistance is encouraged email firstname.lastname@example.org and mention Go For It’s scholarship program.
“We are very fortunate to connect with Tyler and learn more about his vision for Go For It,” I AM 3RD Recreation Director Jeremy Hobbs said. “Youth sports can create social relationships that can only be developed on a field or court. Several of our participants share Tyler’s same story. We look forward to our partnership throughout this year and beyond.“
Go For It was founded by Beisner – at the time a wide receiver on the University of Kentucky football team - in May of 2020 in an effort to provide youth sports opportunities for financially challenged families in Fayette County. The inspiration was a free camp Beisner attended as a child in Florida, which was hosted by former NFL wide receiver Dexter McCluster. It was the first time he played football and it changed the course of his life, eventually leading him to the University of Kentucky, where he remains a student and now serves as a Player Development assistant.
All 70 scholarships, as well as all future scholarships, are fully funded through donations. If you’d like to support Go For It in their mission to provide youth sports experiences for financially challenged families in Fayette County, you can make a donation at GoForItKy.org. 100% of all donations go directly toward paying youth sports registration fees for children in Fayette County.
